RP&L announces a 6% rate reduction for all customers.
February 4, 2010
The customers of Richmond Power & Light will see approximately a 6% decrease in rates for the beginning of 2010. This comes after a rather turbulent 2008 and 2009. Some factors contributing to the ease in rates are; the overall demand for electricity has been steadily falling, RP&L is purchasing less coal, and the wholesale price for the electricity that RP&L has to pay has fallen as well. This is good news for all of the customers of Richmond Power & Light for the beginning of 2010. This price decrease will affect all customer segments.
In light of the decrease, the economic condition of our economy is still a time for customers to practice sound energy efficiency management in their homes and businesses. Richmond Power & Light still encourages customers to use solid conservation techniques and purchase energy efficient products to save money each month.
RP&L has proudly served the Richmond community since 1902. The utility maintains a commitment to our customers to serve them in the most cost effective and environmentally responsible way possible. For energy efficient tips and other valuable information, visit our website at www.RP-L.com.
