The EDC of Wayne County is focused on helping the communities that contribute to it by providing economic development services related to specific community projects.
Among the services the EDC of Wayne County provides for its contributing communities are:
- Grant research, writing and administration (including Community Development Block Grants)
- Assistance with project management
- Act as a liaison for the town with state agencies
The EDC of Wayne County has been involved in the following projects:
- Construction of a Wastewater Treatment System for the town of East Germantown
- Construction of a new Health Clinic building for the Wayne County Health Department
- Wayne County Cardinal Greenway Project
- Planning grant for extension of water and wastewater services to residents on South Washington Street outside of the town of Hagerstown
- Working with the town of Milton on a potential planning grant for a wastewater treatment system
